With a background in finance, commercial and industrial real estate was a natural fit for Mike Houlker and he has consistently been one of the country’s top performing agents since joining Bayleys in 1986.
Noticing the reservations that some smaller investors had about the significant outlay involved in direct property investment and having all their investment capital tied up in one property, Mike began investigating alternative property options for these types of investors. Working in conjunction with one of Australasia’s leading and largest property fund managers, the ASX200 listed Centuria Capital, Mike has project managed the marketing and sales of around 70 property funds with a total combined property value in excess of $2.5 billion.
During this time, he has developed an unrivalled knowledge of this sector of the market. Mike is Bayleys Head of Funds and Investment Products and is also qualified as a Financial Adviser.

Samara is the Funds and Investment Products Manager for the Bayleys Funds and Investment Products Division and manages the process from marketing through to sales and investor relations.
Joining Bayleys’ Auckland in 2010, she has been instrumental in raising over $1.2 billion of capital from investors for New Zealand’s leading property fund managers. Samara’s background prior to joining Bayleys involved key roles within a leading property funds management business. She is qualified as a Financial Adviser and has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Otago.
With almost 20 years’ experience specialising in property-based investment products, Samara has a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of this sector of the market. Clients describe her as friendly, approachable and knowledgeable and she is passionate about ensuring investors receive the highest levels of service. Sarah is an integral part of Bayleys Funds and Investment Products Division and has been specialising in this area of property investment for 10 years. Over this period Sarah has been involved in raising over $1 billion dollars of capital from investors for New Zealand’s leading property fund managers.
Her background with Bayleys and the property sector in general is extensive, having started in 2009 working part-time in the research team whilst completing a Bachelor of Property and Bachelor of Science from Auckland University. After graduating in 2010, Sarah worked in the Auckland Central Commercial and Industrial team before moving into the Funds and Investment Products Division in 2014.
