NZX listed Asset Plus (NZX:APL) announces its conditional 15,100m2 office building development at 6-8 Munroe Lane has been officially registered under the Green Star NZ – Design and As-Built v1.0 rating tool.

In partnership with Auckland Council as Anchor tenant, Asset Plus is committed to achieving both a 5 Green Star design and build rating, and a 5 Star NABERS rating for the development. Asset Plus Development Lead Stephen Brown-Thomas says “the Green Star registration demonstrates our commitment to designing a sustainable workplace by applying industry leading green building standards.”

The 7-storey commercial office building located in Albany will provide the 5 Green Star base building provisions with Auckland Council also seeking a Green Star Interiors rating for their fit-out. The rating tools award points across nine categories including energy, water, types of materials, the indoor environment quality, transport, land use, management, emissions, and innovation.

NZGBC Chief Executive Andrew Eagles says “It’s always exciting to see projects like this showing leadership and working towards our green, sustainable standards. By committing to this, Asset Plus and their team are helping reduce our sector’s impact on the environment and deliver the change New Zealand needs.”

The development agreement with Auckland Council remains conditional upon satisfaction of the landlord funding and shareholder approval condition prior to 30 October 2020.

6-8 Munroe Lane has officially obtained a 5 Green Star – Design & As Built NZv1.0 Certified Design Review rating

The green building rating scheme certifies projects that slash waste to landfill, responsibly sources materials and create spaces that better serve the environment and end user.
