Volunteering day

On Wednesday 22 April, members of Centuria NZ’s Auckland team spent the day volunteering at Kelmarna Community Farm in Ponsonby, an organic community-run farm that dates back 40 years.

Kelmarna Community Farm’s mission is to contribute to sustainable food production through regenerative farming while also bringing the community together.

The day began with a guided tour of the 700 sqm farm, which houses a vegetable garden, food forest, composting systems, and livestock such as sheep, chicken and bees.

The team rolled up their sleeves and got involved in a range of hands-on activities. Tasks included weeding garden beds, harvesting fruit, potting plants and supporting general maintenance across the farm.

It was long day of physical work, but highly educational and rewarding!
