Could you play 18 golf courses (324 holes) over three days?
Before you answer and to put this idea into context – that’s six 18-hole rounds over three days straight.
We know four great New Zealanders about to attempt just that. And as far as they know, this has never ever been done before!
Why? Well, there’s a really special reason. On the 25 January our Head of Operations, Adelle McBeth, will mark the fourth anniversary of her second kidney transplant – donated by her brother, Reeve Barnett.
From the age of 12 Adelle has lived with the same kidney disorder as Jonah Lomu, known as nephrotic syndrome. Adelle has had two kidney transplants, extensive dialysis and various other treatments.
Kidney Kids had a profound effect on her life, and her family’s. She’s now joined their Board and taken on a role of speaking to families to show it’s possible for their children to live a relatively normal life.
So, Adelle’s husband, Mick, her brother Reeve, a colleague Bernie Smith who has worked with Augusta for over a decade, and world speed golf champ Jamie Reid will attempt to play every golf course in Taranaki to raise $30,000 for Kidney Kids.
Augusta will be donating generously and Kidney Kids would love your support too. They have setup a Taranaki 18 Challenge – give a little page, which you can access by clicking here.
